Police looking for suspect in rape, kidnapping case
Eugene police are looking for a Lane County man who allegedly raped and kidnapped a female acquaintance Thursday night.
Police said the alleged rape happened about 11:30 p.m. in Eugene. According to the police report, Matthew Phillip Williams, 31, then took the woman, also 31, out of the city against her will.
She was able to flee about 6:30 a.m. Friday and get help at a Chevron gas station on Highway 58 in Dexter, police said.
“So it was a long ordeal for her,” police spokeswoman Melinda McLaughlin said.
Williams is described as 5-foot-8 and 205 pounds with brown hair, hazel eyes and a tattoo that reads “5150” on his stomach. He might be driving a stolen, dark blue 1997 four-door Honda Accord with license plate VWH-806.
“If somebody knows where he is, they should definitely call 911,” McLaughlin said.
Anyone with details related to the case also is asked to call detective Ted Williams at 541-682-5175.
